The Oilers and Maple Leafs play in the annual Winter Classic
Edmonton and Toronto came onto the ice for the first period. They lined up for the face off, it was Jason Routledge faced off against Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. Nugent-Hopkins won the face off and the game was underway. It was a good hard hitting game that was 0-0 after one.
As the two teams come back onto the ice for the second period as they put in goalie Jason Routledge. The game was going good for Mr. Routledge until Jordan Eberle came down on the right wing, to make it 10-2. Eberle had 10 points, 5 goals and 5 assists. As for Routledge he had 2 saves on 12 shots. After two Routledge will likely be pulled.
Going into the third period they take Routledge and put him at centre. Routledge won the face off and went and scored. Routledge went on and scored 7 more goals. There was 14.7 seconds left in the third. The face off was in the Oilers end. They had Routledge out with Lupul and Kessel. They need Routledge to win the face off. It was 10-9 Oilers. Routledge won the face off and went in decked out Eberle and Simd and scored on Dubnyk. The game went to overtime.
The Oilers and Maple Leafs make there way onto the ice for overtime. It was a good fought ot with 2 minutes left. Eberle took the puck down the ice, he has Hall on the left. It was 2v1 on Routledge. Eberle dangled out Routldege and passed it to Hall for the 11-10 win. What an insane game. Final score Oilers 11 Toronto 10.
