The Percent of a Number

This week in math we learned how to find the percent of a number.
During this process it is important to show ALL of your work.
For Example: If you had a question like this: 30% of 234, the first thing you need to know is that "of" always means to multiply. So know your question would look like this: 30% * 234.
Next you would change the percent into a decimal by multiplying it by 100. Now this is your question: 0.3*234.
Next you would whip out your handy dandy calculator and type that in.
If you did these steps correctly your answer should have been: 70.2.
So now you know how to figure out the percentage of that number.
