Math Power Point Project

This week in math we have been doing this project for ELA that is actually Math so it's kind of confusing.
In the power point, I talked about how to round and talked about the order of operations.
Do you want to know how to round?
Sure you do.

We are going to round the underlined digit.

345 672 918

The underlined digit is in the millions place.
If we want to round this number to the nearest million, we need to look to the right of the number and find out the number in the hundred thousand place.
If the number is greater or is 5, you change the number in the millions place, in this case is a 5, to a 6.
Then you need to change the rest of the numbers behind it to zeros.
This is now our number:

346 000 000

There I taught you how to round.

Now I'm going to teach you the order of operations.

My teacher taught me something to help me understand the order of operations better.
This is what he taught me:
BEDMAS
BEDMAS means:

B-Brackets
E-Exponents
D-Division
M-Multiplication
A-Addition
S-Subtraction
You need to know that because if you had a question like this:
2+3*4+2
That doesn't mean you go 2 plus 3 equals 6 times 4 which is 24 plus 2 is 26.

Wrong!
You would use the order of operations.
First are there any Brackets? NO
Are there any Exponents? NO
Is there any Division? NO
Is there any Multipication? YES! So we do that first.
What's 3*4?
That's right 12.
Is there any addition or Subtraction? NO
Is there any Addition? YES! So we do that next.
What's 2+12 It makes 14. What's 14+2 It makes 16. So that's your answer.
Just one more thing. When Dividing or Multiplying you do whatever comes first.
That goes for Adding and Subtracting too.

That's all I can tell you now. Bye
